The EFG Swiss Open Gstaad is pleased to announce that the first two of its three main draw wildcards have been awarded to Swiss players Jérôme Kym and Dominic Stricker.
At just 23 years old, Jérôme Kym emerged as one of the breakthrough stories of the 2025 edition, earning the first ATP Tour victories of his career. The Aargau native enjoyed an impressive run to the quarter-finals, where he narrowly lost to France’s Arthur Cazaux after a thrilling three-set battle.
This year, Kym returns to Gstaad for what promises to be another memorable week. He will team up with Stan Wawrinka in the doubles event, creating one of the most anticipated pairings of the tournament. Subject to the draw, the two Swiss players could make their doubles debut together on Monday, 13 July.
Excitement surrounding the partnership is already building. Wawrinka, who will officially launch his farewell week with a special celebration alongside fans on Sunday, 12 July, returns to doubles in an atmosphere that promises to be unforgettable. Many fans will remember his 2023 doubles title alongside Dominic Stricker, celebrated in front of packed stands at the Roy Emerson Arena.
The second wildcard has been awarded to Dominic Stricker. The Bernese player will make his sixth consecutive appearance in Gstaad, where he has become one of the tournament’s most popular Swiss players. A two-time doubles champion in Gstaad (2021 and 2023), Stricker returns to the Roy Emerson Arena after overcoming a series of injuries. Having already claimed two ITF titles this season, the 23-year-old will play his first ATP 250 event of the year in Gstaad as he continues his climb back towards the top level of the game.
With wildcards awarded to Jérôme Kym and Dominic Stricker, Stan Wawrinka moves directly into the main draw. The Swiss legend will play his opening singles match on Tuesday, 14 July, during the traditional Swiss Day, which has already sold out.
By awarding these two wildcards to two of Switzerland’s brightest talents, the EFG Swiss Open Gstaad once again underlines its commitment to supporting Swiss tennis and developing the next generation of players.
The third and final main draw wildcard will be announced later this week.
Interest in the 2026 edition continues to grow, with Friday and Saturday now almost sold out and only a limited number of tickets remaining.
